Levels of AIXThe Future of AI & Human Experience

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already impacting the systems, services and devices that we, as consumers, use every day. But while there have been exciting advancements in the field, researchers, developers, policymakers and consumers lack a common language for discussing AI’s application across the variety of user domains and, most importantly, how it will transform our experiences.

Grounded in research into the cutting edge of applied AI science and engineering, LG Electronics and Element AI launched the Levels of AIX Framework at CES 2020. Each of the four levels represents a step-change in capability that will allow AI-powered products and services to provide new benefits to users and society. With a focus on human-centric design, the framework includes four underlying dimensions and considers ethical implications for how AI must remain safe and trustworthy at every stage. Illustrated examples are provided to demonstrate each level and its implication for the end-user.

The AIX Framework

The Levels of AIX Framework is designed to help the industry, policymakers, workers, consumers – any end-user –
better recognize the technological milestones that define the advancements in AI,
share a common language and to support a roadmap for human-centric design of consumer AI.
